A Second Son a Second Edwin Birthday Card!!

Hi everyone! I bet you are all looking forward to a wonderful weekend ahead!! Sure hope it is great...........
I am going on a trip to visit our youngest son and I leave on Sunday January 24th and will return on February 3rd. So this is my last post until then.
Ryan has a Birthday on the day I am arriving at his house! Our two boys are only 5 days apart in January LOL { and that is only a small portion of our family January Birthdays :o)}
Ryan is a masterful guitar player who writes his own music and sings as well. I was SO happy when I found Guitar Edwin #137 at Diana's store. I also received the 'Window Curtain' # 547 from Diana the other day and wanted to use it too. AND I also used the 'Spring Tree'- it is from the 2009 Easter Collection.

For this card I used my new Air Gun ( from Diana ) for the first time and didn't have a clue how to use it! But I tried and managed a sky for the outside. The tree is stamped and coloured with Copics. I stamped and cut out the window pains then coloured the frame and the curtains. Then I stamped the curtains onto a DP and cut them out shaped them and pop dotted them on top of the original curtains.

Edwin was then coloured with Copics, cut out and place on deeper pop dots so he sits in front of the window.

I used SU card stock: Craft and Pumpkin Pie and two unknown and very old Design papers. For the left inside I ran the Pumpkin through the Music embossing folder and for the right side I just stamped the sentiment onto the Design paper.

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ryan - see you in a couple of days :o)
And see the rest of you when I return - bye bye for now ~ Candy

My entry for the : Pretty in Pink Blog Hop Challenge

**Edited to add: Entry for Magnolia Down Under Challenge #30 this fortnight as well. You must take a trip there also to see the delightful cards the design team has made. ****

Good morning everyone!! I haven't gone to bed yet but I will as soon as I post my card for the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog Challenge. Clicking on this link will take you to the blog to read about the Challenge and see the 'PINK CANDY'

The Design Team and Lady Diana did wonders with their cards and the Hop was a lot of fun!

For my card I have done a Valentine Card - and so far I believe I am the only person to do one! Really surprised me cause that was the first thing that came to mind. Maybe all the others are smarter than I am and wanted to use different stamps to show how beautiful they could look in PINK?
Here is the front of my card:

I did a lot of things I have never done before and used on this card. One was using Norma's - January 9th.Tutorial for making lace with paper and punches. Another was using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I had the opportunity to purchase a few colours and the one I used on this card is called: Snow Angel. I have sprayed it onto the pink border with the white paper lace on the front of the card, on the whole page of DP on the inside left page, on the white heart of the right inside page as well as the roses!!! It was scary and then fun LOL LOL
I used stamps I got after Valentine's Day last year that I had never used before and it was really great to colour them. I bought them from Diana ( her link is on the upper right corner of my blog. Just click on it and you will be there...) One is called ' Cupid Tilda' and the other is called Amor Tilda #290.
I have tried to take pictures so you can see the Glitter Mist as well as all of the
'BLING' I have used.
Here is a couple of closer pictures of the front of the card:

This is the left inside:

I also took a second one of this one to try to show you the misting - I think you have to look pretty close!

This is the inside right - Misted to death LOL:

I also took a closer one of the flowers but I think you can only see the mist on the green leaves and not on the pink flowers - such a shame as in person they are lovely:

The Recipe:
Card stock: SU - Rose Red
Design Paper: October Afternoon
Sentiment: computer generated
Stickles
Atyou Spica :silver pen
Glitter Ritz: Super fine silver, pink and the Glue that goes with it
Nestibilities large scalloped heart
Prima roses
Coloured with the Copics pictured below:

Thanks so much for taking time to visit me and I hope you will all have time to make your PINK CARD.

Happy 40th Birthday Shawn

Hi - It is our oldest son's Birthday on January 19 and I can't believe he will be 40!
How in the world did that happen????
I am still not sure how to make 'men', grown up cards with my Magnolia's but I have tried once again to do so with dear 'Bartender Edwin' #124. I thought to 'Celebrate' this special occasion I would use this stamp. All my stamps are bought from Diana - please click on her link in the upper right hand corner to order.

As you see it is a rather plain card. I have used Bazzil Basics in brown for the card stock and Basic Grey's 'Origins Collection Pack' for the DP. I stamped Edwin with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Prism card stock and coloured him with Copics. I cut him with my Coluzzel second largest oval and then the Bazzil again with the largest one. I added some yellow baubles and also used Crystal Lacquer on the glasses. I coloured his belt buckle and the tray with my Silver and Gold Atyou Spica pens which I also purchased from Diana.

On the inside left of the card I simply used the same DP to which I added a strip of the Bazzil. Because I was able to buy a package of Basic Grey this time - which included letters - I used the co-ordinating colours to spell 'Happy 40th'.

The inside right side is a simple cut of the Coluzzle again in the same two sizes and a sentiment from 'My Favourite Things'. I also stamped, coloured and cut out the 'Wine bucket #1404, from Diana. I put Crystal Lacquer onto the bottles here also, as well as more Silver Atyou Pen onto the bucket. I attached this image with pop dots.

Here are the Copics I used:

Sorry I see the light was shining on one of the markers - that one is R30.
I would like to wish my wonderful, thoughtful, hardworking, great father, wonderful husband of a son; a Marvelous Happy Fortieth Birthday :o)
Hope to see you soon with a pretty card. I am looking at all of your GREAT BLOGS and most beautiful work and am quite unsure I can make anything quite so pretty but sure want to try.....

Happy Sunday Evening

I hope each of you have had an enjoyable weekend?
They go by so fast - don't they?

I made a card for one of my daughter-in-law's Birthday today.
I used Magnolia stamps I bought from Diana of course, last year.
I cut Tilda out and when I did so I cut off the one ivy leaf that was sticking out and covered the other one with a tiny bow I made ( I think I am the only person I know who doesn't own a bow easy ). My Tilda has red hair - my own colour combination - because Rhonda has this colour red hair.

Here it is a bit closer:

The inside:

A bit closer again:

RECIPE:
Stamps: Tilda with presents #? , present with bow #456 ( 2008 ) - these items are out of stock at the moment. *I am afraid last year I was new to Magnolia and I didn't think to write down the number of Tilda from Diana's site*
Card Stock: SU - Bashful Blue
Design Paper: Unknown - two sided ( used both sides )
Copics
Pearls: Hero Arts - 2 sizes
Martha Stewart Punch
Spellbinders: Shapeabilities Fancy Tags
Ear ring : Rhinestone diamond colour - Michaels
Bling: SU Dazzling Diamonds
Thank you so much for looking at my card - I really appreciate it.
Hope your Monday is a good one.

It's Hump Day!! ( as so many of you say LOL )

Hi everyone! I am long retired and when I worked I don't remember the expression 'hump day', but I do understand that it means a great deal. Half the work week is over and come ON weekend~~ I hope you have all survived your back to work week thus far.

Today I made another Birthday Card - this one for my brother. I wanted to explain that so you will know why I picked the stamp I did LOL

He had a heart attack at the beginning of December and an operation and is recuperating now as well as having many appointments at the doctors for tests etc. He KNOWS how much I love him, but I wanted to remind him.....Also wanted to make a very bright and cheery card for January.

I almost felt I over did it for a man's card so the inside is simple:

Recipe:
Stamp: Kissieface from 'Bella'
Design Paper: Creative Imagninations
Card Stock: SU Pacific Point, Green Galore
Sentiments: Front = clear sticker ? Inside = SU 'Full of Life'
Punch: SU = Modern Label
Buttons: My stash
Ribbon: SU
Colouring: Copics

I hope you have enjoyed this one and will see you again real soon.

Good Afternoon!

I hope the week has started well for everyone?

I am very late with a Birthday Card and so I made a belated one and have it for you to see today.
Would you believe there is no Bling on this one?? LOL
I used SU Whisper White and Real Red Card Stock and the Design Papers are 'Creative Imaginations' that I have had for quite some time. The image is from 'Sugar Nellie' - one I just love. The flowers are made by me - I am sure you can tell as they are so plain LOL. The two decorative buttons are from my stash and the pearls are half back sticky ones from ???

The flowers are made from YoYo Yellow and the leaves are from Green Galore both from SU.

I did put Crystal Lacquer on the two coat buttons and on her boots!

The inside of the card is simple I just used both of the DP from the front of the card combined with the red card stock.
Left page:

And right:
This image is perfect for me because I live where it rains all the time and this is how we all dress.......If we were going to work that is LOL LOL
Have a great week.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a lovely and safe New Year's Eve.

I have been busy this evening making another Sympathy Card. I am glad to have them both made now - I find them so hard to make! This one is for a friend who lost her father just before Christmas.

I have not used a Magnolia on this card either. I needed to make it quicker than the time it takes me to make a Magnolia card.
I used a Stampin'Up Set on this one called 'Thoughts & Prayers' for the image and both of the sentiments.

The DP is from Bo Bunny and is called 'Back to Back', the card stock is SU Basic Black. I stamped with SU Basic Black ink as well and covered the image and the outside sentiment with clear embossing powder. The black ribbon is a beautiful black striped corduroy. The only other things I have used are some MS medium black half back pearls and four tiny black pearls on the inside.
The inside right:

I am sorry I forgot to take a picture of the inside left, but I just used the same two papers as on the front with the Basic Black.
I am off to start on some of the many cards and other projects I have to get done this month. I am sure I will be back soon with another post.
For those of you having to go back to work on Monday. Please take care if you are driving in the snow.
Love, Candy
