A Sympathy Card

Hello!
Here is a Sympathy Card I made today.

I used a Gorjuss Stamp called 'Guardian Angel'. DP that is very old and I have no idea who made it - sorry. The card stocks are all from SU - Whisper White, Ballet Blue and Melon Mambo. The image was stamped on WW card stock coloured with Copics and then I used my
Atyou Spica gold pen for her hair and her heart necklace. Both the wings of the Angel and the bear have 'Stardust' Stickles on them. After the stickles were dried I wrinkled the image by balling it up in my hand and then distressed it with a distress tool and also Tim Holtz 'Weathered Wood Ink'. The image was cut with my Nesties and then double mounted on both of the card stocks. I put a double flower together with a Sterling Silver Spacer ring as well as a brad and mounted the flower with dimensional tape. The Sentiment was cut with a label punch and then the I cut the blue background for it with the fancy label punch. I poked holes in the blue, and mounted it also on to dimensional tape.

Here is the inside left of the card - just simple:

I used the same papers as the outside and added SU beautiful white silk ribbon which I dyed with SU Ballet Blue ink to match the paper.

The right side of the card:
The Sentiments are from 'Papertrey Ink - In case you can't read the inside it says : Wishing you Hope in the midst of sorrow, Comfort in the midst of pain.
You can see that I started to write on the card before I realized I hadn't taken pictures of it yet!! - I stopped after I wrote ' Dear' LOL..........
Thanks for taking a look at my card.
I am off to my mother's for two weeks - so you won't see me again for awhile. Take care .......

Gosh!! Thank you all - this is how I made it.....

Gosh I am surprised that my candle went over so well! Many of you have emailed to ask me how I made it. It isn't hard at all so thought I would let you know how I did it.

I used white tissue paper. I stamped the image into the 'dull' side with black Staz-On Ink. Let it dry a few minutes. I coloured the image with my Prismacolor Pencils and USM using stubs.
It is easy to move the colours around with the mineral spirits and I believe a lot of you used them to colour with before Copics came on the scene. I coloured with the main colour first and then added my darker shadows. Once I was finished I cut the image out with scissors - carefully - the tissue wants to tear. I left a margin of about 1/4 inch maybe more in some areas around the image. I placed the candle on it's side and laid my image in place with the shiny side ( or wrong side ) up and took my finger and just lightly rubbed it over to keep it in place. Then I wrapped the candle with waxed paper all around and made it long enough that I could roll up some to hold onto on the back side. I then took my heat gun and slowly passed it back and forth all over the image, not holding it any one place very long. The wax off the paper melted onto the image and melted it onto the candle. The candle didn't run because I kept the heat moving at all times. I then removed the paper and there she was!!!

Next I picked my ribbon I held it in place on the candle with tiny glue dots that don't show at all.....I knotted it and cut the ends. I placed my crystals where I wanted them and lightly pressed them on - they were all sticky ones. Then I simply cut out my leaves and again placed them on with little glue dots. I did the same with the flowers.............With all of these decorations on it - I would never light THIS candle. I do know it will burn the centre inside only and leave the outside ~ but I have a feeling with these heavy flowers they might slowly fold into the candle as they got warm and they are made of paper so a fire might occur. Perhaps it you used a really BIG candle that burns down the centre and had just your image and a few pieces of bling it might be OK if you were IN the room ~ but I don't want to tell you to light them.
This candle is for a gift and they are heavy to mail, so this candle is 3" in diameter by 6" tall. It is also a white unscented one. Scented would be nice too - but my friend has allergies......

I hope this has help those of you who have asked how I made it.......so lovely of you all!

Hi - Another hand made gift!

Hi all - I have tried my hand at another hand made gift. I have never made a stamped candle before! I have hand painted one and that went well because I painted it all over.
Doing it this way I am not totally sure if it works or not and would appreciate your input.
I coloured my Tilda with Prismacolors on tissue. Heat set it with wax paper and all that went very well. My problem is that because the candle is round I wasn't sure how to decorate it........
As you can see I put flowers on one side of the image and bling on another. Please can you give me tips as to how to decide when it is a balanced design?

Here are some pictures:

I seriously am asking for input on this one - thank you to everyone who leaves me some!
Have a glorious Sunday!

Clean and Simple Challenge Card

Hello! Hope you all had a nice weekend. It is raining at my house today.....

I have made a card for the CAS Challenge on the Magnolia-licious Highlights Blog. Please go and have a look at the cards the Design Team has made they are delightful. Also the rules for a Clean and Simple Card are on the blog. There is even a show of all of the entries too!
This is my card:

I am sorry that I still don't have my photo editing program working - I am going to need some help with it!!

I took another picture so you can hopefully see the sparkle on the card:

You can see my shadow in both pictures - oh my!!!!
I have used a plain red card stock and a shimmer white card stock and I have no idea who the maker of either is. I am using up old stock I have had for ages. I did run my shimmer white through my Cuttlebug and used the Snowflake Design. My image is Santa from Magnolia. I have coloured him with my Copics. I only have 3 reds and I used them all : R29 - R27 - R 24. I have used my Atyou Spica pens in Silver for his belt buckle and in clear for his beard and hair - I sure hope you can see it. Looks real nice in person. I have also added Sparklyfluff for the trim on his coat and hat. This is the first time I have used it - love it. So easy to apply!
I have chosen to keep the front of the card REALLY simple and have put my sentiment on the inside.
Thanks so much for having a look.

I'm a Sucker for You !!

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all having a lovely Saturday! The sun is shining at my house and the temperature is great.
Gosh I am finding it hard to get time to stamp with DH away. It is awful when you have all the chores to do by yourself LOL LOL.......
I did manage to get one card started yesterday and finished today. This Tilda is " 60's Tilda " from the 'Yummy for your Tummy Collection'. Diana has them for you to buy at her store.
I know this one has been made my many girls in the past week or so - but there was no way I could pass up making her when my name is : CANDY !! LOL LOL
As I look at her now I am wondering if I should had a rhinestone to the four corners? This is not my entry for CAS this week ( I have more than 3 layers too ) - but I love making cards with less.......they somehow seem much more classy to me.
You can let me know what you think, OK?
Here she is:

and a bit closer for you:

Here is the inside - left:

and the right side:

The DP is from DCWV - Sweet Stack. The two coloured cardstocks are both from SU - Green Galore and Pink Passion.
Tilda was stamped onto white - coloured with Copics and cut out. The sucker was made from two separate pieces of pink cut with my Spellbinder Nestabilities and then a smaller piece of green and an even smaller piece of DP. I used a Q-Tip for the sucker handle. Took off all the soft stuff and put it in between the two pink pieces. Tied a very interesting pink felt ribbon on my Bow Easy into three and attached it with glue dots. Tilda is stacked on many pieces of 3 D tape to get her high enough to sit on top of the sucker! I made the sentiment with my computer and printed it onto the pink paper and then cut it out with one of my sentiment punches from SU. It has Star Dust Stickles around it. It is also on one layer of 3 D tape. Tilda herself has some of the same Stickles on the dots of her dress and on the sucker and then I put a layer of Crystal Lacquer over the Stickles.
For the inside I just cut the paper to size and used one of my border punches and cut out suckers from the DP - made sticks from white CS and glued them onto the pink. The opposite side has the same suckers cut out - this time with pink sticks and narrow white ribbon tied into bows and attached with glue dots and then they were glued to the paper.
Hope you enjoy this one ~ many thanks for looking.

Second Post today!

You can all imagine how excited I was to receive the 'Yummy for my Tummy' Collection of Magnolia's from Diana. I buy all of my stamps from her she has the best collection and prices anywhere!

I couldn't contain myself any longer, needed to make a Birthday Card and here it is. OPPS TILDA is a perfect image for me. I have developed the knack of clumsiness in my old age and am quite a show most of the time either dropping things or doing something silly. Opps Tilda would be me for sure.......wanting to make a cake and dropping the last egg I had in the house!!! LOL LOL

Here is my card:

Today I used white card stock with SU's 'Pink Passion' and DCWV 'Sweet Stack'. I put stickles on the cupcakes that were showing on the paper for a bit more bling. I stamped Tilda on to my paper and then cut her out with my Spellbinder 'Curved Rectangle', then of course coloured her with my Copics. I then traced a very narrow line around the embossed section of the die cut as I thought it needed some colour there. I have added a button of measuring spoons and some lime green dots from Bella Baubles. I wrote OPPS - cut it out with my small oval punch and then punched a fancy oval a bit bigger and put holes all around that one. Both of them are mounted with 3D tape. Tilda is mounted the same way. I also added some stickles to Tilda's bakers hat and apron and made Patton leather shoes and a shiny egg with Cyrstal Lacquer

On the inside I simply used another of the 'Sweet Stack' papers which I cut to have a birthday cake on one side and a decorative bit on the writing side. A simple sweet card - I think!

Here are some more pictures:

The insides - Left and Right

I had fun making this card and hope you enjoy seeing it.........

Good Sunday Morning to you!

Hi there!

I made a gift today. I have many to make and I try so hard to do different ones each year. Do you have as much trouble as I do coming up with new things each year?
This one is my try at an ornament - without having anything in the house except my paper to make one with!

I love this little Tilda - she is so sweet. Her name is: Tilda with Yule Cap. I had some papers here in the shape of large snowflakes. I cut out two white ones and glued them back to back, then I used a piece of cardboard that I cut small enough to hide and put it between the front white snowflake and the second blue one - just to keep them apart a little bit. I found these MS really large sparkles in Michaels a very long time ago in the Wedding section. They were self sticking and went easily onto the snowflakes. I put a lot of Diamond Dust on both the front and back of the snowflake. I coloured ( with Copics ) and cut out Tilda. Put some Stickles on tie of her cap and a touch around the striped part, added two buttons to her jumper and then attached her with 3D stickers to the blue snowflake. Made a hole through the
white double snowflake and put a silver stretchy thread from SU through the hole to hang her from the tree...........
Please let me know what you think??

Sorry I had to take these pictures in my kitchen as I don't have a knob to hang it from in my craft room! LOL......I don't have the good light in there like I do in my craft room either and it was rainy when I took the picture so you can't see it sparkle.
Here is one closer:

This is one little gift that is going to be touchy to wrap this year :o)
Thank you all for looking ~ have a wonderful Sunday.

Edwin's going to a Birthday Party!

Hi!! I was invited at noon today to go to a Birthday Party at 4:00. The young man was turning the age of majority and I had to think of a quick Birthday card! I am not quick at anything these days - least of all a card. It takes me all day to make ONE. So I decided to leave out the inside as he probably won't keep the card anyway and just do the front of this one. I never worked so fast before......I was finished the card, showered, dressed and out the door in time to help make the birthday supper.

A big shout out to Pam Sparks who let me know about the Challenge this week at Copic Creations.
It is a black challenge, and since I did some black on Edwin I have entered my card there. You must go check out the DT's work - AWESOME INDEED!!!!

Please excuse the pictures - my photo editing program is not working and I was in so much hurry I did not take the time to clear my desk before taking the picture.

I used Bazzil cream card stock and all the DP are from Bo Bunny ' Back to Back'. Of course I coloured Edwin with my Copics. I used crystal lacquer on the two glasses and I used stickles on Edwin's wings and the stars. I stamped the star with my SU 'In the Stars' set and cut it out by hand. Wrapped SU gold cord around the star and also hung a tiny star charm from the cording. The star is mounted with 3 D tape. I didn't have time to search for a sketch so just put a few papers together for this one.

Here is a picture of Edwin a bit closer.

This is a very short post but thought you might like to see Edwin tonight.
I hope to get going here and get a lot of cards made - but my husband is away and I have been trying to get a lot done around the house while he is gone. My days are flying by and I am exhausted before I ever get to sit down!
Thanks for taking the time to peek at my card :o)

Hello!! ~ I am home again..........

So nice to be back home again after a month away with my husband. As you know he goes on a fishing trip each September to the north of Vancouver Island. He had a wonderful time with friends he sees there every year and we had the best weather in all the times we have been there.....
The weather here at home has been just as great - although, I do hear it may rain tomorrow. Can't complain though! It is October - Thanksgiving Weekend here in Canada, so you know fall and winter weather is on it's way.
I was just dieing to make a card after all of this time......LOL
I have made a very simple one today. I hope you can see the calmness and the quiet beauty I was trying to do? I wanted the light coming from the top left of the card this time. I sure hope you can see what I have done so that the right side is darker and also under the see-through costume the colours should be lighter also.

I love this simple image from 'Paper Pretties' and have had it for some time.

Today I have used SU card stock: 'Close to Cocoa' as well as SU, DP: 'Candy Lane'. I used my border punch at the sides of the brown and pink DP and I cut out my image with the Lrg. Spellbinder Oval Scallop. I have used a wide satin brown ribbon from SU as well.....The soft peach pearls are from: Kaiser Craft
Don't know if you really need a closer view - but I have one here for you:

The inside of the card is simple as well - just the way I wanted it to be.
I have put 1/4 " brown ribbon across the left hand page twice and made bows that I attached, as well as more of the pearls. I stamped a sentiment from my 'Bella' stamps in Close to Cocoa, attached a ballet slipper with the ribbon to the sentiment and then mounted with dimensional stickers and added one pearl to it also.
The right hand side of the card has three beautiful Prima flowers added with sterling silver centers and pearls.

I hope you enjoy looking at this card....
You may also notice I have a new background on my blog. It is sooo pretty, I just couldn't resist it even though I know that Halloween and Christmas are fast approaching!
I also was taught how to add a way of subscribing to my posts with an email link. I love this way myself to receive other's work, so hope it will be of some help to those of you who like to follow my blog.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of the Canadians out there and for all of my other friends: have a wonderful weekend.
