Magnolia Inspiration

Good Morning!

Today is the new Inspiration Challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog

Here is our Inspiration Picture:

Isn't it wonderful? I love the peaceful winter scene.
Chrissy choose the theme again this month and what she has asked for is mostly WHITE on our card with a little bit of colour.

Please take a trip over to the Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has made this time......

This is how I have interpreted the Challenge:

Here is a close up of Tilda: I have used Crystal Lacquer on her tear and the buttons on her boots -

Here is the bottom of the card:
And here it is with the sentiment part open:

I have used Fairwell Tilda from the Bon Voyage Collection. She is number #215 but unfortunately isn't in stock at the moment.
I have also used the DooHickey Dies: Swirl#4 and Doily Flowers #8 . Everything is from Diana's Store. The very best place to buy all of your Magnolia images at the very best price and the biggest inventory as well. If something is out of stock a quick email to Diana will have it in for you in no time :o) Diana also carries the MINI MAGNOLIA'S and is the only store in North America to do so. They are SO wonderful and addicting too!!! :o)

I sure hope you will join us at the Challenge Blog and enter a card, cause this time Diana is giving away a $25.00 Gift Certificate!!

It's Tuesday and another COLOUR CHALLENGE with the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog

Hi everyone!!

It's MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS CHALLENGE BLOG: COLOUR CHALLENGE TUESDAY
You don't want to miss this wonderful Challenge from Design Team Member CHRISSY LE.
Chrissy has chosen the colours GREEN, BLUE, and PINK.

Here is the picture we have for the Challenge:

I am sure you won't be surprised to learn that I made another Christmas Card.
I really enjoyed Chrissy's Challenge - I think I am into untraditional Christmas Colours this year LOL
For my card I have used images from the 'So Snowy So Jolly Collection 2009'
Tilda Singing Carols #3007; Snowy Circle #482 and Noel #457 Gosh I am sorry but all but the 'NOEL' seem to be out of stock at the moment, but I see Diana has lots on order for you.

Here is my card:

Tilda was stamped onto Cryogen White paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then stamped again onto a piece of 'Eclipse Masking paper'. I cut her out of the masking paper and laid her on top of herself * chuckle; then stamped 'Snowy Circle' over the top of her.
My Design Paper is digital from 'Bearly Mine'. My two card stock papers are from 'SU' : 'Taken With Teal' and 'Green Galore'. The design paper on both the inside and outside of the card have been painted with white acrylic paint on the sides, then touched over with my Versa-mark ink pad and sprinkled with white embossing powder and heated with the heat gun - just wanted to 'jazz' it up a bit more :o) * After I had done this, I received my Magnolia Ink Magazine:
'Merry Christmas', and read an article in it about doing this very thing*.
You will notice the circle that Tilda is standing in, as well as the inside of the card, have been distressed a lot and then inked with 'Tim Holtz': 'Tattered Rose'. I used 'SU' white 5/8" Organza Ribbon and coloured it with my Copic YG17. I tied a triple ribbon on my Bow-easy from which I attached 3 coloured jingle bells. I have used a bunch of 'SU' Dazzling Diamond Glitter on the snowflakes, the fur on Tilda's coat and hat and her wings. Her boots have Crystal Lacquer on them. I then sprinkled 'Polar White Flower Soft' on and around the bottom of her boots.

The very outside circle of the writing panel was made by cutting 1/2" strips of my Design Paper and punching it out with a pretty 'SU' Punch.

I hope you love the work your Design Team has done for Chrissy's Challenge!
Please pop by the blog to see everyone's work.

Won't you please join us again for this challenge? This time ' The Lovely Diana' is giving away another $25.00 Gift Certificate!!

Hi everyone!

How are you all doing? Are you out of breath yet from trying to get everything ready for Christmas?
I am LOL.......a few unexpected things this year as my daughter-in-law broke her shoulder!
Also I am still making gifts - I am usually finished by now - but not this year :o(

I have a couple more cards today.
One is for my Grandson Brandon - I used a hAngler & sAngler Image this time, and think he is so cute for a 7 year old :o)
Oh Oh I see his name tag fell down - it says: Brandon!
Here is a closer look -
Here is the inside -
I used White 'Sparkly Fluff' on his hat. Crystal Lacquer on the candy cane and lots of
'Twinklets'' on the snowflakes :o)

Here is my second card. This one is for a friend so I will not be able to show you the inside. All of these cards have to be mailed first thing tomorrow morning!!
This one is another LOV Image that I love so much.
Here she is a bit closer for you -
On this card I used some lace I had from my quilting days and a snowflake charm from my stash.
The beautiful flowers are from Diana at Magnolia-licious and the 'leaves' are punched with MS punch.
I hope you all take some time to sit and relax and find some 'me' time during the hassle of getting ready :o)
Thanks for visiting me.

Sunday November 28th

Hello!

Well I have spent my week making the Christmas Cards that I send to everyone. It turned out to be a bigger job than I expected this year. Couldn't get out because of snow etc. so had to scrounge
my room to see what I could come up with. Managed to borrow a die from a friend and that helped a lot. But BOY what a lot of work.
After telling you all that I can't show them to you cause people haven't received them yet LOL LOL

I can show you two other cards that I made this weekend. One Saturday and one today.

This first one is for my Granddaughter, she is 4 :
Here is another closer of the bunny. This is a Lilli of The Valley Image, 'The Night Before Christmas'. I LOVE all of their stamps :o)

Now hold on to your hats folks cause this next card is not a 'Candy' card at all.
I couldn't resist though making this one ~

Are you surprised??? This is a Kenny K image. Here are a couple more pictures
for you:

Here is the inside:

Sorry no colours for these ones - I'm in a hurry. Still have several more to make for the special people in my life, like my Grandson, Mom, and good friends.

The paper used for Mariah's card were digi papers from NitWits and the papers for the 'Sexy Christmas' were from Basic Grey - 'Jovial Collection'.

The afternoon is still early at my house so I'm off to write in those Christmas Cards I made and get them mailed for December 1st!

Hope to see you soon :o)

First INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

Hello, Hello and Happy Tuesday :o)

It's time for our Inspiration Challenge on the NEW MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS CHALLENGE BLOG.

Here is the picture I chose for the DT to work with.
Oh it made me feel so much like Christmas time and I wish my home looked like that! I really liked the unusual colours and all the sparkly gold. I know it is untraditional, but I think that is why I liked it so much.

Do you know there are only 31 more sleeps till Christmas?? * giggle

It is so exciting to be on the Magnolia-licious CHALLENGE BLOG!! It is very hard to wait for two weeks to go by to show you our cards....we work ahead of time and my card has been ready for 1 1/2 months :o)

Here it is:

The images I chose from Diana's store are:
Sneaky Tilda #3060 from 'A Merry Little Christmas' Collection 2010 and the 'Christmas Tree' from Winter 2008. I can't find the tree in the store at this time - sorry. I believe if you ask for it, Diana will try very hard to get it for you :o)

I am sure when you see my card you can tell right away that I got MY inspiration from the all the pretty colours and the gold stars.

I made my card a bit bigger than my usual 5 1/2" square so that I could use my new Spellbinder Dies -Label 10. I had to use the largest size to get my images to fit inside and then I backed it with shiny thick gold card stock and cut it to mimic the shape. I was so fortunate that my friend Corrie took me to Nanaimo to Michaels. I was able to find this beautiful ribbon, which is actually transparent except for the wonderful coloured sparkly polka dots. I also found the colourful rhinestones there and used a lot of them as decorations on my tree :o) The tree top star was from my stash.

The base of my card is 'Tempting Turquoise' card stock from SU. I used a 'MS' Punch Around The Corners - Bubbles' punch set. On top of that I have a square of the shiny gold paper, then a base of white card stock. Onto the white paper I have adhered 'Bo Bunny's - Winter Joy Magic' design paper. Then 'Green Galore' SU' card stock cut in a strip with the ribbon around it.
On top of that I have raised my gold and white cut paper with my images with 3D tape. On the upper right corner I used both the small and large star punches from 'SU' and punched them out of the gold paper again and attached one 'Imaginisce' snowflake.
I am sorry that in the pictures all of the gold looks copper coloured :o( I didn't know what to do about that in my pictures.

This card opens from the bottom up.Here are some pictures of the inside:
Top -
The DP is more of the 'Bo Bunny' Collection, which has been distressed with SU 'Tempting Turquoise' Ink. I used my Spellbinders Fancy Labels to make the blue part of my sentiment area, then stamped and cut out the white piece. The sentiment is from SU a set called 'Snow Swirled'. I punched two small MS snowflakes and coated them with MS Course Glitter and also put it around my sentiment.

The bottom part of my card is quite plain with lots of room to write a greeting:
I have put the Course Glitter around the white paper here as well. The blue paper was die cut with Spellbinders 'Eyelet Squares'. It is adhered to the white card stock, but you can also see the edge of the gold paper that is on the base.

I really hope you will join us once again on the Magnolia-licious CHALLENGE BLOG.
We had a great response to our Colour Challenge and are simply thrilled that so many of you joined us :o)
The WONDERFUL DIANA CRICK has a great new gift for our Inspiration Challenge, that I am sure most of you would LOVE to own.
It is the MISTLETOE BORDER DIE! Here is a picture of it:

Happy Birthday Uncle Bill

Hi!
Saturday already!! I can't believe the week is over.
I made this card Wednesday for my Uncle Bill who will celebrate his 90th Birthday November 24th.
There is nothing to buy him. I just wanted him to know how much I love him and haven't forgotten his very special day!!
It was hard to pick an image for him......I thought something as simple as possible would be the best.

I used Basic Grey design paper called 'Mellow'. Card stock are both from 'SU' :
'Kraft' and 'Summer Sun'.
All paper edges were distressed with Tim Holtz : 'Vintage Photo'.
I don't think I will bore you with my Copic colours this time.
It is almost evening and supper has to be made :o)

Here's a close up of Edwin:

Enjoy your weekend - see you Tuesday with another Challenge on Magnolia-licious CHALLENGE BLOG!!

Another Challenge card for Sassy Cheryl :o)

Hi there!

It's raining cats and dogs at my house today and the temperature is dropping each day. Didn't get my walk in because of the weather, but the past two days had to wear some mittens to keep my hands warm!

Since I won some wonderful digital images from Sassy Cheryl's I want to enter her challenges when I am able.

This week the challenge is to use Tulle on your card. I had just bought some of this stuff about a week ago but really didn't know too much to do with it. So I tried one of the Lollypop flowers I had heard about.

My tulle shopping spree didn't 'net' ( LOL LOL ) me too many colours, so to match my card I used two colours together to hopefully get the softer tone of blue that was required. White and Turquoise were used alternately.

I'll show you the card front:

Here is a closer picture of my Digi Image: Tiny Tabitha and my flower:

I used some awesome Design Paper from last year of MME called 'I Believe'
The card front uses SU Real Red and the strip of red down the middle is Bazzil Polka dots in red.
I distressed all my papers with Tim Holtz Distress ink called 'Vintage Photo'.
Used Crystal Stickles on each flower layer with a red rhinestone in the middle.

Here is the inside of the card - Left side:

The right hand side:

I coloured Tiny Tabitha with my Copics - brand new red juicy ones that I had trouble controlling!! ( I will list the colours at the end ) I used SU Dazzling Diamonds on her hat and at the bottom of her coat. I used Crystal Lacquer
on her shoes and the ice she is standing on - don't think you can see that :o(
Used a brand new Spellbinder Nestie to me: 'Lacey Squares' - large.
Other than my adventure with the red colours this image was a real joy to colour. I printed her onto Cryogen White card stock with all the little glitter pieces in it and also used a piece on the inside for writing. The lovely bright red ribbon is from SU as well.

Hope you like this little card......

Love, Candy

Been fighting the bronchitis germs and they really got me down. Beginning to feel better this weekend.

Here is the inside:

Another little card today....

Today I had an hour to make a card for my neighbour. It is her Birthday.
Not much time - so I used an image I had coloured with my Copics many months ago. The image is by: Diane Duda from Sugar Nellie. She is called 'Believe'. So no colours to tell you once again. This will stop :o)
The card stock is from Stampin'Up. The pink is: Pink Passion and the blue is: Tempting Turquoise. Design paper is a little piece I found in my scrap pile.
After making the card ( 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" ) I took my other pieces of paper and put them through my Zutter Distrezz-It-All.
All edges were inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo. The little image is mounted on two other small pieces and then onto 3 D tape to raise it up. The two bright coloured flowers are from Prima and the brad is from DCWV.
I used Crystal Lacquer on the two crowns and the cats nose; Diamond Stickles on the star on her wand and on the dots on her dress. I wish now I hadn't put it on the polka dots because you can no longer see the shading I did on them. Then because I wanted to use my new Stampin'Up: Silver Glass Glitter I put in on all four wings. This was a mistake because it is far too big and heavy for these little wings. However it was easy and quick to use so I will use it again for something bigger.
This is the result:

Thanks for taking a look :o)

Hello!!

Well! I am home once again and I hope to be home for a good long time.
Mom had a terrible fall this spring, so I went over to help her out until she was able to walk again and felt better. I came home for 4 days and had a phone call that she was in emergency with bronchitis, dehydration and heart failure so went back and stayed for quite some time.....I then came home for 4 weeks, during which I had company and a garage sale - of all things!!! Then back I went again to make sure she was going OK on her own. Thank the Lord she is able to look after herself still and is completely better.

I find that after such a long absence I had a very hard time making my first card. I think I have told you of this problem I have before. It is hard to choose an image, then the paper and then the layout. It is like starting for the first time again!! The more I think about it the harder it is. I finally jumped in and made a card......Certainly not one of my best, but I hope the first of many more to come on a regular basis.

This one I have made for my brother and his wife's Wedding Anniversary. I bought them from Diana - of course :o) - they are called ' Loving Bridal Couple ' and are number #168 from the BRIDAL COLLECTION 2010

The card stock is Bazzil and is actually Vanilla, but I have antiqued all the edges of it, as well as of all the Design papers with Tim Holtz 'Vintage Photo'. Design Papers are 'Basic Grey - Cappella'. I coloured my image with Copics but forgot to list them - sorry!
The ribbon was tied with my Bow-Easy and was a small piece I had left from somewhere?

Here are two pictures I took:

This one I was trying to show the bit of stickles I put on it and also the sparkles in the Cryogen White paper I used:

Before I say goodbye for today, I want to tell you of a dear friend of mine: Claudette Holden. I have known Claudette for 16 years and she was a very special lady. She gave to everyone. She gave her love, her support, computer lessons on PSP, and so much more. She was an Artist and a Child of God. Claudette passed away last week from Cancer. I will miss her dearly. I send my love and prayers to her very loving and dear husband Steve and to all her family.

Thank you to each of you who have come back to see what I am up to. I sure appreciate your patience.
Love and Blessings,
Candy xoxo

Oh Fudge!!

Good Sunday morning to you all.
Here I am again with another challenge for Mo's weekly. This week it is anything goes :o)
I have been wanting to use this image ( well - ALL of Mo's images for ages ) and finally found a reason to use it. She is called 'Two Jill'. Mo has a whole set of images of two year olds that can be bought either in a bundle or singly.
I found myself very busy this last while and I missed a birthday for my cousin in England. When we were young girls, into our teens and when we had young families we were Pen Pals. Then as life got in the way things changed as they always do. Even though I am late, I must send her a card and sure hope she gets a kick out of this one.

I rarely colour anything so brightly, but I just had to make a statement with this one and the paper I chose called out for it!
Details:
Card stock: Brocade Blue - Stampin'Up - Bright green - Brights DCWV
Design Papers: Penny Lane - My Minds Eye
Crystal Lacquer on her shoes and SU Dazzling Diamonds on the crowns on her dress.
Red Candy Dots: Pebbles, Sentiment: Oh Fudge from CreatewithTLc - digi site. Inside sentiment: I forgot your Birthday computer generated by me!!

Copics used:
Skin - E0000,E000,E00; Cheeks - R20; Hair - E35, Yr23, Y23; Clothes - Reds: R24, R27, R29 - Greens: YG23, YG17 - Shoes: C3, C5, C7
All paper has been inked with Tim Holtz: Walnut Stain Distress Ink
Hope to see you later today or early tomorrow with another card :o)

Hi - Guess Who?

Now don't you all fall off your chairs!! I made a couple of cards today ~ about time, eh?

I am not posting the first one - but I do want to take a minute to say goodbye to a really good friend. I met Jack Washington online with my first computer in my very first group over 15 years ago. He was a fine gentleman with a loving wife, Helen, and a great family. He loved them all so much!! He sent me many pictures of them all and even himself. I am very sad to say that when my computer crashed a month or so ago I lost them all.
Jack and I corresponded all of these years and he was wonderful! He was an avid photographer, loved the outdoors, the wild animals, fishing and many more things. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He made life a lot more pleasant for me as I have few friends and I treasured his friendship. He was always interested in what my husband and I were up to and asked after my mom and my grandchildren.
Thank you, Jack, I love you!

June 17th brought another challenge to Mo's Digital Pencil and this week it is dry embossing. I finally decided it was 'do or die' time and made a card :o)
It couldn't be any plainer, but I have been away from card making for a while now and needed to start with something simple.
This is SOPHIE and she can be purchased HERE

The card is my usual size of 5 1/2" SQ. I have used SU's : Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue. For the embossing on the pink I simply used my awesome Score Pal - from Diana Crick, and made lines every half inch in both directions. For the blue card stock I embossed it with a new folder to me by: 'Crafts Too', from a Stamping Store on Vancouver Island. Heart pin is from 'Close To My Heart'
The Satin Ribbon is from SU also, as is the sentiment and the punch I used to cut it out with. I put a hole in the sentiment piece and threaded it through the pin end before I cut it off. I used a glue dot to secure it.
I coloured with Copics as I do most of the time. The colours I used are:
Skin - E0000,E000, E00 and a touch of R20, cheeks and socks are - R20 ( socks also have a touch of Y15 and R32 ), Dress - Y15, Y13, Y11 with a touch of R32 and G24, Dolls dress - B97, B93, Doll body - E53, E51, Doll hair - E44, E41, Sophie's hair - YR04, YR18, E13

Here is a close up for you:

It is great to be back - hope I can stay back LOL
