Well! I am home once again and I hope to be home for a good long time.
Mom had a terrible fall this spring, so I went over to help her out until she was able to walk again and felt better. I came home for 4 days and had a phone call that she was in emergency with bronchitis, dehydration and heart failure so went back and stayed for quite some time.....I then came home for 4 weeks, during which I had company and a garage sale - of all things!!! Then back I went again to make sure she was going OK on her own. Thank the Lord she is able to look after herself still and is completely better.
I find that after such a long absence I had a very hard time making my first card. I think I have told you of this problem I have before. It is hard to choose an image, then the paper and then the layout. It is like starting for the first time again!! The more I think about it the harder it is. I finally jumped in and made a card......Certainly not one of my best, but I hope the first of many more to come on a regular basis.
This one I have made for my brother and his wife's Wedding Anniversary. I bought them from Diana - of course :o) - they are called ' Loving Bridal Couple ' and are number #168 from the BRIDAL COLLECTION 2010
The card stock is Bazzil and is actually Vanilla, but I have antiqued all the edges of it, as well as of all the Design papers with Tim Holtz 'Vintage Photo'. Design Papers are 'Basic Grey - Cappella'. I coloured my image with Copics but forgot to list them - sorry!
The ribbon was tied with my Bow-Easy and was a small piece I had left from somewhere?
Here are two pictures I took:
This one I was trying to show the bit of stickles I put on it and also the sparkles in the Cryogen White paper I used:
Before I say goodbye for today, I want to tell you of a dear friend of mine: Claudette Holden. I have known Claudette for 16 years and she was a very special lady. She gave to everyone. She gave her love, her support, computer lessons on PSP, and so much more. She was an Artist and a Child of God. Claudette passed away last week from Cancer. I will miss her dearly. I send my love and prayers to her very loving and dear husband Steve and to all her family.
Thank you to each of you who have come back to see what I am up to. I sure appreciate your patience.
Love and Blessings,
Candy xoxo

I just found your blog and I love your card, it's gorgeous. So glad your Mom's doing better, I've been down that road with my parents and it's very heart breaking I know. Hint: Playing with paper helps. :)
How nice that you are back Candy. Great to see you are making cards again, but of course hope that your mom is healthy too :o)
I love this stamp and never get around to use it. Now that I have more inspiration from looking at a finished project with it. So delightful and the shiny effect of the flower is a great touch on this card. Pretty card and can't wait to see more!!

Oh my - blogger did not like my comment and came up with an error! I'll try it again. :) I'm so happy that your Mom is doing well - she's very lucky to have such a wonderful daughter to take such good care of her! Your card is so adorable! You know you had me with the Magnolia image, but you've done such a fantastic job putting this card together, the sparkle is perfect and the bow is great, I love gingham checks. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, so very sad. She would certainly be honored to hear your kind words! Glad your back and looking forward to more. :) hugz, Mary
I know what it is to start up again after a long break. You feel all thumbs and what should be a quick decisions all of a sudden becomes a mammoth task. I love the way you colored this couple. And I think your choice of layout and dp's just adds a lot of ambience to the card. I hope your mom continues to improve and be independant!
Hugs,
Barb
