A New Year a New Colour Challenge

Happy New Year!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the very best of things in 2011 :o)

We have a new Challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog this week. Orange and Green. Please take a trip to the blog to see all of the cards the great girls on the Design Team have made. They are all so pretty :o)
Here is our picture for inspiration:
My card is for my Daughter-in-Law, whose Birthday is January 6th!! Obviously she is getting a 'late' card this year as per usual. I feel terrible that I do this to her every year and wish I would stop it.
I just never seem to get my January Birthday cards done in December as I should. I have 5 Birthdays in January and the first two are always late!!
I have used 'Tilda in a hurry' #3000 from Diana's Bon Voyage Collection. ( You can order your stamps etc. by clicking Diana's store in the top right corner of my blog )
My papers are from 'My Minds Eye' - Alphabet Soup Collection.
Here is Rhonda's card I hope you like it:
A little closer of Tilda in her Eyelet Nestie:
As you can see I have used orange rhinestones for the buttons on her blouse and tiny pearls for the necklace that is spilling out of her suitcase. I have put Crystal Lacquer on her shoes. I also put the same rhinestones all around the Nestie.
I used gold sticker letters and wrote 'late for your birthday' and tiny little sticker flowers in blue. Tilda has been coloured with Copics and cut out and attached with 3 D stickers to the Nestie.
I wanted to sew on this card as I have seen so many of you do. So I sewed mine by hand with variegated pearl cotton - size 12. Each piece inside and outside has been stiched.
On the inside of the card I made a pocket and used the Doohickey 'Vintage Tag' ( from Diana's store ) to attach my gift to. Both of the orange elements on the inside have been distressed with 'Tim Holtz' Vintage Photo ink.
For the inside right of the card I used the same Nestie Die in the orange this time. I used the same sheer green ribbon as on the tag and put it through the top two openings and tied a bow. I also added more of the blue sticker flowers :o)
I took a close up of the stitching for you to see it better, don't know if you can or not?
I hope you will try your hand at this Challenge. Diana will have a $25.00 Gift Certificate for the winner!!
Copics used:
Flesh - E000, E00, E21
Blush - R20
Hair - YR04, YR18, E13, E19
Hat, Shoes, Suitcase - YG93, YG95, YG67
Clothes in the suitcase - R85, R83, R81, Y11, Y13, Y15, BG11, BG23, BG32

That is a wonderful idea doing the insert for the tag inside. The cute pearls coming out from Tilda's luggage is so very cute. What a cute image to use for belated birthday card. Very smart idea and I love your interpretation of this color challenge Candy :o)
Hugs,
Cabio

You have the perfect name CANDY! I want you to know that you do not need a sewing machine - OMG! How long did it take you to sew this? I must say Candy, your hand sewing is just as picture perfect as you printing. Now that takes talent. You know this also looks like it could be a good St. Patrick's Day card. Love the pearls falling out of the suitcase - what great ideas to , well let's just say borrow.
Love your card Candy and you my friend!

Oooh, I love your card. Your sentiment is perfect to go with this adorable Tilda image. Gorgeous DP's you have. OMG you actually made those stitches by hand--they look fabulous. Love your embellishments. Candy, I bet your daughter-in-law was over the moon when she got this.

I LOVE this card. The bright colors are so cheery! I don't own any of the Tilda stamps, but your card sure makes me want to. I also love the little tag pocket that you created inside.
