Paola, this months DT Member, has given us
this picture:

****************************

I saw the light wood dresser and white basket
as well as flowers and stripes.

So that was what I intended to portray LOL

I have never had as much trouble making a
card as I had this time!
No matter what I did, it turned out wrong
and had to be redone :o(
I finally just had to go with this result...........

My card:

I have learned a valuable lesson when paper piecing.
Next time I will use my Prismacolor Pencils
to shade with. You can see that the
Copics did NOT work on Designer Paper!
I thought I could use them sparingly to just
make my shading - but they went horribly dark and ugly :o(

My intention was to paper piece Tilda's clothes
with what I thought was the perfect light brown with pink dots,
Design Paper from SU.
As you can see my card base is white as are the
background pieces behind the floral paper.
I have lost all feeling of the white by distressing
all of it with 'Pretty in Pink' ink from SU :o(

I have used papers from NitWits - called 'Bumbleberry Too'.
I thought the pink flowers and matching striped paper
were a great choice.
By trying to decorate my card
more than I usually do you can hardly see
the paper or my very pretty lace!
I also know that I will have to use much wider
lace next time!!

My card isn't what I wanted it to be at all,
but I sure learned a lot from it LOL

Here are some close-up pictures for you:

I sure hope my next card will be much better!

Oh Candy...I certainly don't see the flaws in your card that you see. In fact, hon, I really thought the darker shadows on Tilda's darling little outfit were perfect. (I didn't even add shadows to mine!!) I love your DPs and those flowers are perfect! Gorgeous flourish and the little flower trim and pearl embellies are just perfect. Great interpretation of Paola's photo...oh...I forgot to say how gorgeous your copic coloring is. I need to make note of the hair colors...I really love how it turned out!! Huggies...Pat

I think your card is fabulous Candy! I think you're being too hard on yourself b/c I like the darker shading you added on Tilda's jumper. Those flowers are sooooo lush ~ yummy. Love the swirl you've added as well. I haven't used this Tilda yet but you sure have inspired me to ink her up. Hugs, Maria

Well it may not have turned out the way you pictured it, but you brought together some wonderful elements in pairing the hand made flowers with the designer papers you used. We all have times when we struggle with our design elements - what looked good together before it was assembled some times just totally misses what our intentions were. Over all I love your card...I love the chocolate browns with the soft pinks and I love the paper piecing on Tilda's outfit. Don't be too hard on yourself...Everyone else loves your take on the inspiration piece as I do!!!!!

Barb

Candy, you don’t like your shadings? And here I thought you did a terrific job with those folds. Maybe you’re like me, I am my own worst critic…LOL. I think you did a wonderful job in colouring this fun-loving Tilda and your paper piecing. Luv luv luv your hand-made flowers—they are gorgeous. I have never tried making this type before. TSF.

Candy, I really don't know why you weren't happy with the shadows. I think your card is absolutely FABULOUS in every way. You're far too hard on yourself. Wow, those hand made flowers are sensational - is there a tutorial out there, if so can you send me the link please. Wonderful job honey, hugs Sharon x

Oooooh I just absolutely LOVE those flowers!! I have been putting off buying the die for them but not so sure why. Your paper piercing looks great even with the "lesson learned" Copic trial. LOL!! OH I like how you did your clouds up too. I'm finally catching up on a few blogs tonight. YAY!! Hugs!
