Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a good Christmas.
I wish you all a wonderful 2013.

It seems to have been ages since our last Challenge.

Today is our first Colour Challenge of 2013
and our very talented CHRIS
has the CHALLENGES for January.

Here is her picture of Colours for TODAYS challenge:

*PLEASE* REFER TO THE INSTRUCTIONS

Chris has a great message to explain just how to do this one!

Here is my humble card:

I have used all the colours Chris has mentioned
plus a cold looking light blue/ grey sky for the "cold factor"

You will see the taupe, grey, beige and dark brown she has
asked for.

I have used an older Tilda to get the effect of a cold winter day.
She is from MIDWINTER TILDA # 355
FROM THE CHRISTMAS DREAMS COLLECTION 2011

Papers are from Basic Grey - Cappella
Tree and frame die
TH Antique Linen ink

In the close up you will be able to see the
hint of yellow I added to the other colours:

First I cut out the die in Cryogen White ( my favourite colour
to use Copics' on )
Then I cut it out again in the light blue / grey.
I had to put all the little pieces I had out of the
blue/grey paper back like a puzzle to
fill in between the stems. The
only large pieces were the bottom two.
Maybe some of you can think of an easier way to do this??

I put Dazzling Diamonds ( SU ) on branches of the tree
for ice and put tiny dots of glue behind Tilda all over
and sprinkled in on again for snow flakes.

Then I used Flower Soft ( Polar white )
on the left side of the tree trunk and on the top
of the branches, and onto Tilda's hat, shoulders, raised hand
and feet and also along the bottom for snow.

The dark brown colour was added by the use
of the Snowflakes from Make it Crafty, which
also got the Dazzling Diamonds.

The hint of yellow is of course her lamp
and the reflection onto her coat :o)

In this photo it is easier to see
that I have used the TH distress ink
on all the papers, die cut and snowflakes.

I wrote the sentiment myself and
cut it out with
Magnolia ticket dies.

I hope you like my card.

Very nice Candy - I think your card is absolutely grand. I have thought about using the same tree for a winger card and cutting off the leaves and putting snow on it. I love your card!

Ok didn't you say you had next to no time to create this? I think you work really well under pressure if that's the case!! The snow (flower soft) is so pretty and I love your coloring!! Especially how you radiated the light. Great scene Candy! Hugs!

Fabulous card, Candy. What a lot of work you did on the centre panel. Terrific job you did on piecing the pieces together. Love this Tilda. Didn't have a chance to colour this past season--just too many new ones to play with...LOL. Beautiful colouring. Terrific job with the light coming from the lantern--I always forget to add that.
Hugs,
Norma
